Tata Cliq CEO Vikas Purohit Has Resigned

Tata Cliq CEO Vikas Purohit has resigned from the company. The announcement was made by the company’s board of directors on Tuesday.

Purohit had been with Tata Cliq since its inception in 2015, where he served as the head of marketing. He joined the company full-time after it was acquired by TCS in 2017.

In a statement released by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the company said that Purohit will be succeeded by Akshay Narayanan, who currently serves as managing director for TCS Global Delivery Centre India and South Asia.

Tata Cliq CEO Vikas Purohit has resigned from his position as CEO of the company, but he is not leaving the company altogether. He will continue to be a part-time consultant for Tata Cliq as well as other Tata Group companies for two years.

Purohit had worked for Tata Group for over 20 years and was most recently responsible for leading the company’s digital transformation efforts. Before that, he was in charge of the overall business strategy at Tata AIG Life Insurance Company Limited (TALIC).

According to the press release from TCL Holdings (TCL), Purohit will continue to serve in his advisory role while also working on other projects related to digital technology and innovation within the organization.

TCL says that it values Purohit’s contributions and wishes him success with his new projects.”

According to The Times of India, Purohit was hired in May 2019 as Tata Cliq’s CEO after serving as the company’s chief operating officer for two years. He joined Tata Cliq officially in January 2019 as a managing director but was elevated to CEO in May 2019 after being promoted from COO status.

Purohit said that he plans to return to India and pursue other interests outside of business.
