Shamsher Singh, who has been appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SBI Funds, will be responsible for the overall management of the company. He will be reporting to SBI Fund’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Shamsher has been with SBI Funds for over 10 years, where he has served in several senior leadership roles. Most recently, Shamsher was COO responsible for SBI Funds’ North American business. Shamsher is a seasoned management professional with a proven track record of building and leading successful businesses.
SBI Fund is an investment advisory firm that offers a range of financial products for retail clients, including mutual funds and insurance products. The company’s founder, Mr. Shamsher Singh, has been at the helm of SBI Funds since its inception in 1995.
Shamsher Singh holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM). He has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) India, which was conferred upon him by then President Dr. Manmohan Singh in recognition of his contribution to the financial industry through his leadership skills and management acumen.

Shamsher Singh has been appointed as the new Managing Director and CEO of SBI Funds. Singh is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He will be taking charge from May 31, 2019, onwards.
Singh’s appointment comes after a year-long search by the board of directors. He has been with SBI since 1992, first in Mumbai and then in New York, where he was responsible for developing the fund’s global business strategy. In his previous role as CIO, he led the development of SBI’s flagship equity funds.
SBI Funds Ltd., a subsidiary of the State Bank of India, has appointed Shamsher Singh as the new Managing Director and CEO. He takes over from Kalyan Prakash who has been with the company for nearly 20 years and held several executive positions.
Shamsher Singh has worked in financial institutions for more than 20 years and holds a Master’s degree in Business Management from IIM Lucknow. Before joining SBI Fund, he was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Canara Robina Asset Managers Pvt. Ltd., where he oversaw all operations related to asset management, including sales, distribution, and marketing activities.
