11 Lakh Railway Employes to get 78 days bonus before Dussehra

The Indian Railways has announced a 78-day bonus for its 11 lakh employees before Dussehra. The bonus will be given to railway employees from September 1 to October 31. It is the largest employer in India with over 11 lakh employees. The railways have been facing a financial crunch and this move is seen as an attempt to improve the morale of its staff.

The bonus will be given in the form of a cash award and distributed on September 30 to all the employees who worked day and night to make the journey of people comfortable and safe.

This is the first time the Indian Railways has announced such a large-scale bonus for its employees. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that this is an attempt to thank railway employees for their hard work and dedication. Employees always put in their complete effort and never give the chance to complain.

The railway employees are happy with the decision and have welcomed it with open arms. They believe that this is a good way to appreciate them for their hard work and dedication towards their work.

Whether it is raining, too hot weather, or under work pressure railway employees never let the people feel uncomfortable during the journey. They take care of everything whether about the safety of the passengers or the facility provided during the journey. They always show many contributions towards their jobs and this is a very good decision of the government that they release bonuses.

The railway employees are celebrating Dussehra with a bonus of Rs.1,000. The bonus is given to the employees who have been working for at least six months and have not received any other bonus in the last two years. This is in addition to the usual Diwali bonus of Rs.2,500 which they receive every year.

About 1.156 million non-gazetted railway employees will benefit from the bonus for the financial year 2021-22. It will cost around Rs 2,000 crore.

The railway service was severely affected due to the coronavirus that came last year and is still running at a Loss. In such a situation, it was not easy for railway employees to issue bonuses, but still, before Durga Puja, the bonus will be provided to all railway employees.

Briefing the people after the cabinet meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that the financial implication of payment of PLB for 78 days to railway employees would be Rs 1984.73 crore. Close to 11.56 lakh employees will be benefitted from this decision and are expected to be motivated to work towards improving the performance of Railways.

With the passing days, Railways service improves a lot and inconvenience get limited up to great extent. Initially, the railway has lots of issues like dirty washrooms, delays, and other problems during the journey.
