Nykaa, the global platform for buying and selling unusual items, today announced the appointment of Sujeet Jain as its Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer.

As Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer, Mr. Jain will be responsible for overseeing legal and regulatory matters at Nykaa. He will also work closely with the Executive Chairman to ensure that Nykaa adheres to all applicable laws and regulations.

Jain has worked in the legal and regulatory space for over 15 years and brings a wealth of experience to Nykaa. He will be responsible for all internal legal and regulatory functions, as well as external communications and public relations with government bodies.

Jain has worked in the digital space for over 20 years, most recently as CEO of Localytics. He has also held executive positions at BigCommerce, Adobe, and Atlassian. In his new role at Nykaa, he will lead the company’s legal and regulatory team as it moves towards compliance with local regulations across India and abroad.

Sujeet has over 20 years of experience in law and is currently a vice president at Sequoia Capital India and head of legal at Ola. He will be taking up his new role at Nykaa from 1st April onwards. Besides being one of India’s most prominent law firms, Nykaa has also been recognized for its commitment to women’s rights. The company was recently named among the top 10 brands for empowering women by Forbes India.i

Nykaa, a startup that has been making waves in the Indian e-commerce market, is pleased to announce that it has appointed Sujeet Jain as its chief legal and regulatory officer.

Jain brings with him over 10 years of experience in the online retail industry, including working at Amazon India as an associate general counsel. His most recent position was at the leading online fashion retailer Myntra, where he was responsible for overseeing legal compliance and providing guidance on intellectual property matters.

In his new role at Nykaa, Jain will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations related to e-commerce in India—including consumer protection, anti-money laundering (AML), data privacy and security, cyber security, and more. He will also be assuming responsibility for Nykaa’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Jain is an active member of the Bar Council of India, having served as its secretary from 2006-2007. He is also a keen advocate at the High Court level and has spoken on various important issues relating to e-commerce.

Nykaa, a startup based out of Delhi, has appointed Sujeet Jain as the company’s chief legal and regulatory officer. Jain is a lawyer with over 12 years of experience in the IT industry. He will be based out of Nykaa’s office in Gurgaon.

Jain said that he was excited to join Nykaa, which is doing “groundbreaking work to bring digital services to Indian consumers.” Nykaa is a mobile-first platform that makes it easy for users to find, compare, and buy goods online. It was founded by Ankit Gupta and Kiran Bhatia in 2016.
