Airtel 5G Rollout: Operator Publishes List of 116 Smartphones That Support Airtel 5G Connect
The operator has published a list of 116 smartphones that support its 5G network
The company said that it will soon start rolling out the service in the city and the first devices will be available for purchase in June 2022. The company has also announced that eligible subscribers will get three months of free data usage.
Airtel, which is now providing 4G services in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, has already started testing its 5G network in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
Airtel has published a list of 116 smartphones that support its 5G network, including the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, the Nokia 6.1, and the Nokia 7.1, as well as several devices from other manufacturers.
The operator has been rolling out its 5G network for two years now and currently has over 1.3 million subscribers across the country. In addition to India’s largest telecom operator, Bharti Airtel is also partnering with other carriers in South Africa and Indonesia.

The company said the list of 116 smartphones was released to ensure that customers have access to the latest technology ahead of the launch of 5G services in these countries later this year. The company added that it plans to increase its customer base by 50% over the next two years following a successful implementation of 5G equipment in these regions in 2020.”

Airtel also stated that it will make sure that all the devices which do not support 5G connectivity will be supported by 3G or 4G LTE for data use.

According to Airtel’s executive director (operations), Karthik J said that several devices can support 5G connectivity. The list includes smartphones from Samsung, Xiaomi, and Nokia among others. He also mentioned that they are looking forward to releasing more details about their plans shortly.
The company is also looking forward to launching mobile internet services using 5G technology later this month.
