India is preparing to chase a total of 191 runs in the upcoming T20 World Cup match against England. The match will be played at Old Trafford on June 2nd, 2019. India’s coach Ravi Shastri has been quoted as saying that “We are not going to stop chasing the total.”
He added that “We have been playing good cricket throughout the tournament and now we want to take it further.”
India won the toss and elected to bat first. They were dismissed for just 125 runs in their innings while they lost four wickets. India started their innings well with openers Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya scoring 43 runs each. However, they failed to score any more runs after being sent back by James Anderson with his first ball which went for 21 runs.
James Anderson bowled well in his first over by conceding just one run off overs 4-5. He did not give batsmen any time to settle down as he struck twice in his third over which helped him take two wickets for just four runs conceded by him thus reducing India’s score from 40/0 to 40/4. He also gave away just one run off overs 6-7
India is up against England in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. The two countries have met twice before, with England winning both games.
India’s strategy for this match will likely be to set a high target and then knock it down as quickly as possible with their spinners. This is because India does not have a fast bowler who can take wickets consistently, and they are unlikely to be able to catch up with England’s batsmen if they can get them out early.
India is determined to avoid a repeat of their World Cup quarter-final defeat by England at the hands of an inspired England.
India has been going all out in the first five overs, leaving themselves with a target of 50 from 10 overs. However, this is not enough to match England’s batting power. The English side has scored at almost twice as much rate as India so far in this game.
The Indian captain has changed his tactics for this game and is trying to quickly get his side off to a good start before they get bogged down by the English batsmen. He has decided to bowl first and will cut off their scoring options if he can get them in trouble early on.
The Indian team is on a roll. They have won all three of their games in the T20 World Cup, and they are now one win away from reaching the final and defending their title.
The team has been playing with a new strategy that involves aggressively chalking up quick runs to keep England’s batsmen off-balance. The tactic worked in the first game against Sri Lanka and will work again today against England in the semifinals.
The Indians have already claimed their place in the finals by beating Bangladesh earlier this tournament, but if they beat England today, they will be guaranteed a place in the final as well.
