Mehta was previously the chief operating officer of Suzlon’s parent company and had been instrumental in setting up the company’s manufacturing facilities in India and elsewhere. He has also worked with the company since its inception, helping to set up its first plant in India and later becoming its chief financial officer.

Mehta has been with Suzlon since 2007 and has led the company’s operations in India, China, and Africa. He is responsible for human resources across all three regions.
As new group CHRO, Mehta will be responsible for leading the company’s HR functions globally.
Mehta will be responsible for leading the HR function across all of Suzlon’s businesses, including Suzlon Power and Suzlon Aviation. He joins from GE Healthcare where he was responsible for leading the organization’s global employee experience strategy and supporting GE’s corporate culture.
Suzlon, a leading manufacturer of hybrid and electric power systems, has appointed Rajendra Mehta as its new chief HR officer. Mehta will lead the company’s human resource function and ensure that it aligns with its vision of being an innovative, world-class organization. Mehta has over 25 years of experience in the industry, including positions at GE Energy, Samsung Electronics, and McKinsey & Company. He was most recently CEO of TATA Power Systems Ltd., where he oversaw the company’s rapid growth in India and Africa.
Suzlon, the company that made its name in wind energy, has appointed Rajendra Mehta as group CHRO. Mehta will oversee all of Suzlon’s businesses and is charged with driving growth for the company. He has worked with Suzlon for nearly 20 years as a senior executive, most recently serving as president and CEO of Suzlon Energy’s U.S. subsidiary.
Suzlon is one of India’s leading wind turbine manufacturers and service providers. It has established itself as a preferred partner for many global companies, including GE, Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Goldwind, and Dongfeng Motor Corporation.
Mehta will be responsible for managing all HR functions of the company, including its global workforce and people development activities. He will also be responsible for developing a strategic framework and a roadmap for people development in the company.
Mehta has over 20 years of experience in the HR domain, having held senior roles at various multinationals including Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, and Bharti Airtel Ltd. His main areas of expertise include talent management, employee engagement and retention, leadership development, talent management, and succession planning.
Suzlon was founded by Tulsi Tanti in 1994 to create clean energy solutions that would help address India’s growing energy needs while also increasing access to electricity across the country. The company currently operates in eight countries worldwide and has over 26000 employees globally.
Mehta is currently the group CHRO at Mahindra Holidays and has worked for several other large companies like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and National Insurance Co. He’ll report directly to Suzlon’s president and CEO, Tulsi Tanti.
