The managing director of Amul Milk and Dairy Products, RS Sodhi on Tuesday stepped down from his position. In a letter to the whole management, he said, “I am stepping down from this role because my journey at Amul has reached its conclusion.”
RS Sodhi, Managing Director of Amul, announced on Tuesday he will step down from his post in May next year. He has served as the Amul MD for 23 years and has been instrumental in making him a household name across the nation.
The Board of Directors of Amul Limited has elected Mr. RS Sodhi, Managing Director, as Chairman. He is replacing Mr. S Ram Babu, who will retire from the position effective 1st December 2016.” Hyderabad has tendered his resignation from the said post and joined as Chief Executive Officer, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) to take over from Mr. N Chandrasekaran on January 2, 2019.
A veteran of the dairy industry and a pivotal figure in the company’s growth journey spanning over two decades, has stepped down as MD. He has resigned from the post and will be taking a break from the corporate world. The resignation has been accepted by Management Committee at its meeting held on 24 March 2018.
The company said its current Managing Director, RS Sodhi, will retire effective 31 October 2019. BS Sodhi will take over as MD of Amul with effect from 1 November 2019. The board has approved a performance-linked incentive of Rs 550 crore to enable BS Sodhi to step up to senior leadership positions within the organization.”
He has stepped down as Managing Director of Amul, India’s largest producer and exporter of dairy products, effective immediately. Sodhi is the third Managing Director to leave Amul in less than a year, following Rajeev Mehta and Nayan Shah.
Amul, the largest milk cooperative and food brand in India, has appointed RS Sodhi as its new Managing Director for four years. He will succeed CK Kalyani who retires on May 31, 2018.
Amul Group Managing Director, Mr. RS Sodhi, has tendered his resignation from the post. In line with the organization’s policy, he has been granted a retirement benefit of Rs 60 crore.
Srinivasa Rao Sodhi, formerly Managing Director of Amul, has stepped down from this post to take up a new assignment at the company.
Mr. Raghuvir Singh (RS) Sodhi, the Managing Director of Amul Group stepped down from his post with immediate effect. The Managing Director’s position at Amul has been held by only one other person – Mr. RS Sodhi.
He will be replaced by Munjal Sodhi as the new MD of Amul.
On 15th October 2018, RS Sodhi, Managing Director of Amul resigned from the office of Managing Director. He is succeeded by Sudhir Jaiswal who has been appointed as MD on January 1, 2019.
RS Sodhi, who has been with the company for over 40 years, will continue to remain as an Executive Vice-Chairman of the Amul Group, according to news reports. The resignation follows a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh.
He has been the Managing Director of Amul for the past decade. In his time at the helm, the company has undergone a successful restructuring process and turned itself from a business-to-business entity into an entrepreneur-led brand with a wider global view.
R.S. Sodhi, MD Amul Dairy, has stepped down from his position as Managing Director at the company that was founded by K.K Mohandas a little over a decade in 1947. His resignation will take effect on November 1, and would be replaced by Vijaylakshmi Pandit who is currently heading Pravin Talwar-promoted Parmalum Dairy Products Ltd.
