Rachna Mukherjee retires as CHRO, Schneider Electric, Greater India

Rachna Mukherjee, the current CHRO at Schneider Electric, has retired from the company. Mukherjee has been with the company since 2014 and was previously a VP of Global Human Resources. She started her career with Infosys Technologies Limited (now Wipro) in 1998. She has also worked with TCS and Deloitte.

Mukherjee’s retirement is effective immediately. She will work as an adviser to Schneider Electric’s CEO until December 2019, according to a press release.

Rachna Mukherjee, the Chief Human Resources Officer at Schneider Electric, has announced that she is retiring from the company.

Ms. Mukherjee has been with Schneider Electric since 2008 when she was appointed its Chief Human Resources Officer. She had previously served as its Vice President of Human Resources for North America, based in Los Angeles.

Schneider Electric is a multinational company headquartered in Paris with operations in more than 70 countries around the world. It provides energy management software and services to large industrial companies and utilities.

Mukherjee has been with Schneider Electric for more than 14 years and has held several positions within the company. She began her career as an associate HR generalist in 2005 and went on to manage various departments including employee relations, talent management, and diversity and inclusion. In 2011 she was promoted to director of HR systems and analytics, where she led the integration of HR systems across Schneider Electric’s operations in India. She was later appointed CHRO in 2015.

Mukherjee is a member of the Indian Women Leadership Forum (IWLF) and received the “Rashtriya Samman” from the Union Ministry of Defence for her contributions to women empowerment in India.

Mukherjee joined Schneider Electric in 2011 and has held several positions in the company, including associate general counsel for global functions, vice president for corporate affairs and strategy, and vice president of global legal affairs. She was named chief human resources officer in 2016.

During her tenure as CHRO, Mukherjee oversaw a number of initiatives aimed at improving Schneider Electric’s diversity scorecard. The company also launched new training programs that focused on creating an inclusive environment for all employees regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.

Mukherjee joined Schneider Electric in January 2012 as the COO and later became the CHRO in December 2014. During her tenure at the company, she was responsible for leading all operations across the country, including sales and marketing, supply chain, human resources, quality, and compliance.

Schneider Electric is a global leader in power generation and distribution with €46 billion ($54 billion) in revenues from its Electrification Services business. The company’s headquarters are located in Paris but have operations in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Mukherjee has been with the company for nearly 20 years and has served as its chief HR officer for the past seven years. She will remain on the board of directors until June 2020.

“It has been my honor to serve as CHRO at Schneider Electric,” she said in a statement. “I am extremely proud of all that we have achieved together during my time at the company, and I look forward to continuing to work with our employees in this new role.”

Mukherjee’s career at Schneider Electric began with a stint in India’s corporate planning team, where she was responsible for developing strategic plans for Schneider’s businesses in the country. She later worked as an area manager in India before being promoted to head up sales operations in India and China. In 2014, she was appointed CEO of Schneider Electric’s Greater India division.

Mukherjee has received several awards during her time at Schneider Electric, including the Ernst & Young Best Global Employee Award (2017), Best Global HR Business Partner Award (2018), Best Global HR Business Partner Award (2019), and Best Global HR Business Partner Award (2020).
