L’Oréal has announced the appointment of Rasika Malhotra as its new HR Director. She will take up her new role in 2022. Rasika joins L’Oréal from Unilever, where she was responsible for leading the company’s HR function. She is a veteran of the industry, having worked at LVMH and Diageo before joining Unilever in 2020.
In her new role at L’Oréal, she will be responsible for delivering strategic direction and helping develop the organization across all functions—human resources, talent management and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, corporate social responsibility (CSR), diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
The global beauty and cosmetics company L’Oréal has appointed Rasika Malhotra as its next HR Director. She will oversee the company’s human resources (HR) functions, which include employee relations, talent management, recruitment and selection, career development, and succession planning.
Malhotra will succeed Anne-Marie Hussey who has been serving as L’Oréal’s HR Director since 2017.
Rasika will be responsible for the company’s HR strategy and operations, reporting to the CEO and COO. She has extensive experience in human resources management, having held senior positions at several global companies including Unilever and Procter & Gamble.
Rasika Malhotra has been appointed as the head of human resources at L’Oréal, effective January 2022. The French cosmetics giant is best known for its line of hair care products, but it also has a wide range of consumer products and services. She joined the company in 2015 after working with it for six years in another role. She has held several other positions within L’Oréal since then, including human resources director for the business and corporate development director for the Americas region.
She graduated from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Bangalore before moving to Paris to work with McKinsey & Co., where she was responsible for strategic advice on how to improve employee engagement and retention.
Rasika Malhotra has been appointed as the new HR Director of L’Oréal, effective 2022. She will be responsible for all HR functions for the company, including HR strategy, talent management, diversity and inclusion, and performance management.
She is a highly experienced HR professional with over 10 years of experience in senior leadership roles within L’Oréal. She has worked across operations, marketing, sales, and finance functions at the company. Before joining L’Oréal in 2019, she was the Global Head of Human Resources for Unilever India.
Malhotra joins the company after a career in human resources and recruitment, including a period at PwC. She was most recently the head of talent acquisition at financial services group KPMG, where she was responsible for hiring more than 30,000 employees over three years.
During her time at KPMG, Malhotra also worked with L’Oréal on several projects including developing a global talent strategy, which included creating a new cultural framework that supports diversity and inclusion.
The appointment is effective January 1, 2022. Ms. Malhotra is currently Head of Talent at L’Oréal India, where she leads the HR function for the country’s largest beauty and fashion brand. She replaces Cat White, who has served as L’Oréal’s HR Director since 2016.
Malhotra is a recent graduate of IIT Kharagpur with a master’s degree in computer engineering and an MBA from IIM Lucknow. She has worked with several multinational companies, including Deloitte and Google India before joining L’Oréal in 2019 as a senior manager for talent acquisition.
