Indian Railways announces special tourist train for Mata Vaishno Devi on Navratri

October is the month of festivals this year with so many festivals lying in this month and one of them being Navratri. To celebrate the occasion of Navratri, the India Railways has launched a special tourist train for all the devotees of “Maa”.

The “Bharat Gaurav” tourist train is especially being introduced for all the devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi and making their travel easier to Jammu and Kashmir for the same. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched an affordable package for all the devotees who are willing to visit the sacred shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. The package which is stated as “Navratri Special Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra Tour” includes a total of four nights and five days visit.

The date for the beginning of this trip is stated to be 30th September and the train will leave from Delhi Railway Station and travel to Katra Railway Station. The route of the Bharat Gaurav Train covers so many prominent stations and will allow devotees to board the train from so many different stations. Stations that will be covered in this journey are Ghaziabad, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Ambala, Sirhind, and Ludhiana railway stations, all the devotees or tourists will be allowed only to board from these mentioned stations and the train won’t stop at any other station for anyone.

In Delhi the train will start from Safdarjung Railway Station sharp at 7 pm and the onboard devotees will be served dinner and after a night journey on reaching Katra railway station at 10 am, devotees will be served breakfast. From there onwards, all the devotees will then be taken to their respective hotels where packed lunch will be served to them and they will be allowed to rest for a while.

All the devotees at Katra, devotees will be allowed to worship the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, and finally, on day 4, the devotees will checkout from their respective hotels after lunch and will be taken to Katra Railway station- where the train to Delhi will depart at 4 pm. All the devotees will be served both morning tea and packed breakfast on the train during the journey.
